I thought the reports were that they destroyed her pod. What was left to harvest?

What was left to harvest? when you blow up someones pod you have a frozen corpse, drifters take the frozen corpses and turn them into drifters, somehow i think the Empress did not have a jump clone which is really wierd
So Drifters are the EVE equivalent of Borg or Cybermen; taking bodies and assimilating/upgrading them to increase their numbers?

Stuff like that makes EVE seem interesting.
